January 1st payroll taxes went up 2% causing households to budget on 2% less, but the Fed's don't want to budget 2% less but require us to? Give me a break. The 2.4% cuts don't even effect a cut in the budget as it just comes from the Congressional automatic yearly increases, so spending is still as much as last year.
Man up journalists and as the tough questions of this Administration and quit pandering to them. Real journalism is out the door when you can't pound both sides and get to the bottom of the truth and expose everyone for what they are.
Why is it always: the Republicans fault; the Democrats fault; the Tea Parties fault? It's all of Politicians fault (no matter what party they're in). Why haven't we heard what cuts they themselves will be enduring? They want to raise the retirement, reduce medicare and social security benefits (which by the way, we are forced into paying and now they're saying it's an entitlement to me, ha!) but have their medical benefits, retirement, or free spending been cut? HELL NO!!! Oh, and let's as our president to give up some of HIS vacation trips. Flying that plane isn't cheap but do the Obama's care? Think NOT. All they talk about is Taxing us more and taking away what little we are working for. Why not let us vote for what cuts should be made to our politicians and than let's see what the decide what is best for OUR COUNTRY?
David Gregory you are such an ASS.....you OBVIOUSLY go into this interview with your only intent to do a "hatchet job" on the speaker. You clearly have no intention to 'LISTEN" to anything he says but instead you have your own AGENDA here. He keeps making a KEY point about the SENATE has done far done nothing....far less than the HOUSE (no plan, no vote) yet you continue to only blame the HOUSE. Let's see you hammer Harry Reid on MTP next week in the same manner. And the following week, let's see you hammer Obama on your same line of questioning the week after. Wouldn't that be "fair" reporting? But we all know that will never happen....because David Gregory you are so overtly obviously on the side of Senate and Obama.
Obama promised in 2088 "NO Tax increase-NOT ONE thin DIME" "I will check line by line to check cuts to reduce taxes" and look at Obama Care- one of the first cuts is Medicare (what we had to pay for out of past pay checks- and the govt gets free) and medical facilities are getting cuts- watch out for Obama Care and Obama- he must think he is a ruler not being our president.
Boehner evidently did not get the message. We had an election and they lost. The American people no longer believe higher taxes on the wealthy hurt the economy or that lower ones boost the economy. They beleive that higher taxes on the poor and middle class hurt the economy. Look at the effect of the increase of Social Security.
Yet Repubs only want to cut, cut, cut except for the 99%. The charts show that for last 3-4 years all the raises in income (120%) have gone to the 1% while the rest of us have gone down the tubes.
They want to cut Medicare, SS, food stamps, Medicaid, and even defense while maintaining the loopholes and lower taxes that only benefit the wealthy. Boehner even admits cuts in defense spending will cost jobs so he knows he is hurting the economy. After all, defense cuts are not the only cuts but Boehner wants the dems to own the cuts and wants to force the Pres. to propose specific cuts. Obama is aware of their game and their bluff. The Polls show most Americans are too.
The Repubs will own the double dip recession and the ill feelings of the electorate in the next election (2014). Maybe then we can get a Dem majority and do some real governing that is not done with crisis bargaining that holds the American economy and its citizens hostage to the Repubs.
Responsibility for the sequester lies with the administration and both parties. None of the three key leaders, Obama, Reid, or Boehner will step forward as a leader to take responsibility. It is time for real fiscal responsibility in Washington now. We need a budget that is supportive of sequestration that all agencies can work from going forward. BTW, a continuing resolution is not a budget and only adds to the fiscal problem.
I can't believe, while interviewing Gene Sperling this morning, he stated "If the Republcans agree to stay at the $1.043 trillion ....if they agree to that, which they suggested they would, then the President doesn't believe in manufacturing another crisis." And YOU just let it go. What other crisis' has the President manufactured to date? would be my question. And since it is your job, I would have thought it would have been a question you might have asked also.
You fail to see that the crisis referred too might not have meant one that was created by the Pres. It probably meant he did not want to create another one on top of the several over the last several tears already created by Boehner and his TP/GOP!
I'm tired of hearing how the President has increased spending since he took office. He had to agree to additional spending for measures to pull the country back from financial disaster that the previous Republican administration took us to.
I understand the desire to appear principled. But I am surprised that nobody attempts to go into a tiny bit more detail about the kind of tax loopholes we are talking about. I would really like to see which Republicans (other than perhaps Mitt Romney, who has been a beneficiary of those tax loop holes) will convincingly defend tax laws that make private equity and hedge fund managers pay 15% taxes on what, to most normal people, looks very much like income. How does this fit into the paradigm of "job creators"? Have we already forgotten the role the financial sector played in the past recession? It should be a Republican rallying cry to create a more level playing field - why does the small manufacturing business have to pay high corporate taxes while billionaire hedge fund and private equity managers, whose contribution to job creation is somewhat more questionable, pay ridiculously low taxes on essentially gambling with other people's money? Apart from a serious discussion about the impact on growth of various policies, there would seem to be an argument of basic fairness that gets completely lost.
I love all your people at the round table,i would love to see Chuck hava dance off with David..LOL But i am really up set with the fact that my son who falt for our country will be cut in pay and he is married and my disabilities will be cut and my medicaded. Republicans should get along with the democrats. And think of thier own pay cuts to help and cut vacations to def.
Rest easy, my friend. If you listen to Chuck Toady you will not get the real picture.
Additionally, if you voted for this president you asked for this. Do you run your budget this way? Are your credit card bills more than your budget can tolerate? Are you going to leave your children a huge debt that they will have to pay off? That is what this president is doing and he is still trying to add more to the debt. The repubs, who are not exactly perfect themselves, only are asking to stay within our budget, to spend only what we can pay for, the same as what you and every other responsible citizen has to do.
Our government borrows 34 cents of every dollar they spend without a clear way of paying all that back. Your children and their children will be paying this bill. The president wants to tax and spend to keep democrats in office. I hope you can see that. If you can't I am probably talking into the wind.
If you watched C-span you would've seen the debate and the bill get passed that stopped the pay raises that the POTUS put into place at the end of 2012. Dems fought that bill. And sadly the Gop was only freezing the pay raise which would also go to the senate, congress, & the rest of the Govt positions. However during the debate Gop made it very clear that those at the VA etc... they get bonus's and they get a yearly "step" raise. So they are only freezing what potus put out there. But they are still getting a raise as well as a bonus. the furlows they speak of- were also mentioned, and it was basically said they would get 6wks of fridays off..... Well if you have vacation time coming... use it! I mean come on ppl! You gotta get your info from other places then these hacks! Who have no problem deciding that I want to be taxed more! And I would love to see that any of those guys win the lottery of a million dollars, and have most of it go to taxes! Then what would they be saying???? Im disgusted by watching the stupid news and knowing that ive just watched the congress voting on bills & actually hearing what is said then turning the news on and they are so willing to turn it around and put words into ppls mouths that are just not true! I would challenge you to start watching C-span debates to see just what you guys are missing! Honestly! This host on Meet the Press is so annoying to say the least! I only watch so I know what the talking points are and so I can hopefully steer ppl in the right direction for the truth! Thanks for letting me rant! Good luck and I hope that instead of letting others talk you into giving more of your money away that you would investigate what that really means! To prosperity for the American People!!!
Ironically, I'm sending this with a Yahoo email address, but not for much longer. My question is: Who was responsible for "bumping" the most relevant topic on the show today, corporate take back of "work at home" privileges? Was it a corporate decision to drop the segment? Or, was Mr. Gregory in charge of that decision? Regardless, MTP loses credibility either way, and lots of it. Most people, as Mr. Brokaw suggests, consider the buzz on Woodward and Sperling to be trivial, and round panel talk about the sequester was predictable, weak, and often times redundant. The topic that will impact a segment of our workers and therefore the fabric of our culture and society was the work at home programs. In most cases that have been reviewed the programs haved helped both industry and family's be successful and more efficient with their budgets. MTP better devote a LARGE segment to that discussion next week or lose this Sunday morning viewer to ABC and Stephanopoulos.

Watching today's Meet The Press Show, it was very apparent to this registered Democratic Voter that Obama is once again Telling and Blaming, a regular Trait for Obama, for "HIS PERSONAL GAIN", His way or the Hiway Politics as is Obama's ROUTINE MISSION when the People of America are involved.
Obama "DID NOT" get a vote in 2012 from this Democrat. I couldn't vote for "PROLONGED FAILURES FOR AMERICA AND THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY LIVE AND VOTE HERE" !!!
Today's Meet the Press was "Just Another Example" of How Obama is "FLEECING" the People and the Country. Obama and the Democratic Hiearchey is "NOT TELLING THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA THE TRUTH.
The Democrats have HAD the SAME 16 months to "DO SOMETHING" but as the American People can clearly "SEE", Sen Reid and the other Democratic Senators and Obama "DID NOTHING". It will be the People of America, "NOT THOSE ELECTED OFFICIALS", That will "SUFFER"!
DENIGH Obama, Use Obama's BLAMING TRAITS, The Democrats "HAVE FAILED AMERICA'S PEOPLE ONCE AGAIN"!
Please! I would really like to NEVER again hear a reporter (David Gregory, NPR, LA TImes) say "the effects of the sequester have yet to be felt". Federal agencies have been preparing for months for the sequester and it has had a profound effect on work being accomplished. It has caused incredible waste and inefficiency already and to no productive end.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!! Its so nice and refreshing to see others feeling the same way! Thanks for putting it out there!
