This Sunday, David Gregory sits down exclusively with President Barack Obama. This will be Mr. Obama's 11th appearance on the program, his second time as the commander in chief. In the midst of fierce fiscal cliff negotiations, we’ll hear directly from the president about where things stand and whether a compromise is even possible. Plus, David will talk with him about other key issues facing the country as he prepares to begin his second term in office.
His most recent appearance was on Sept. 20, 2009 in the Roosevelt Room of the White House. At the time, the health care reform fight was center stage in Washington and the President joined MTP to make his case for the overhaul. Watch the full interview below.
Transcripts from Barack Obama's Meet the Press appearances:

Gregory won't do anything but pander to the POTUS and his agenda.
It's funny, the names change but the game plan remains the same.
By the time
Nazism(Liberalism)arose(rose to power) inGermany(America) in the1930s(late 2000s), anti-Semitism(Conservatism) was nothing new -- not by along shot. The
Jewish(Conservative) people had suffered a long historyof prejudice and persecution. And although
Nazis(Liberals) perpetuateddecades-old lies, this time those lies would have their most devastating
effects. Like never before, anti-
Semitism(Conservatism) was manifestedin a sweeping national policy known as "
the Final Solution," (“redistribution”) which sought to eliminateJews(Conservatives) fromthe face of the Earth(American Politics). To accomplish this,
Adolf Hitler(Barack Obama) and his minister of propaganda,Joseph Goebbels(Piers Morgan), launched a massive campaign to convince theGerman(American) people that the
Jews(Conservatives) were their enemies.Having taken over the press, they spread lies blaming
Jews(Conservatives) for all of
Germany's(America’s) problems, including theloss of
World War I(American economic prosperity).To..Bruce""""
1933-1939: Early Stages of Persecution
How the Nazis came to power and what they did with it.
On January 30, 1933, Adolph Hitler was named chancellor, the most powerful position in the German government, by the aged President Hindenburg, who hoped Hitler could lead the nation out of its grave political and economic crisis.
Hitler was the leader of the right-wing National Socialist German Workers Party (called "the Nazi Party" for short). It was, by 1933, one of the strongest parties in Germany, even though--reflecting the country's multiparty system--the Nazis had won only a plurality of 33 percent of the votes in the 1932 elections to the German parliament (Reichstag).
Once in power, Hitler moved quickly to end German democracy. He convinced his cabinet to invoke emergency clauses of the constitution that permitted the suspension of individual freedoms of press, speech, and assembly.
Special security forces—the Gestapo, the Storm Troopers (SA), and the SS--murdered or arrested leaders of opposition political parties (Communists, socialists, and liberals). The Enabling Act of March 23, 1933--forced through the Reichstag already purged of many political opponents--gave dictatorial powers to Hitler.
Also in 1933, the Nazis began to put into practice their racial ideology. The Nazis believed that the Germans were "racially superior" and that there was a struggle for survival between them and inferior races.
They saw Jews, Roma (Gypsies), and the handicapped as a serious biological threat to the purity of the "German (Aryan) Race," what they called the master race.

Amazingly you will also find Karl Marx is from the Weimar Republic and both Marx and Hitler considered themselves Conservative Republicans
100 Trillion in unfunded future liabilities?
No problem. Just tax EVERYONE at 9 Thousand Percent. There! Spending problem fixed!
It is a truism that these politicians think Americans should be taxed at a much higher rate than Americans are wlling to accept. They also feel they can continue funding the government give-aways that keep them in office by stealing funds better allocated to the military. In these times, stealing from the military might even be treason. It is certainly stupid.
Without a doubt, he will tell America how irresponsible the Republicans have become. You can rest assured that he will not discuss his unwillingness to reduce spending and address entitlements which are unsustainable.
It is somewhat shocking that so many Americans believe and support any and everything that this president portrays as good for the country.
He has an agenda and for 4 years now, it continues to work in his favor, thanks to many, who have no clue as to the problems facing our great nation.
I should have added to my items in #51 the following and it is the most important. Why is it when all polls indicate that the American people feel one way about an issue, the government still implements the other way, often its way. There are so many examples but the biggest one right now is that despite the nation telling the government it doesn't want Obama-care, we are getting it. How long are things like this going to be stuffed down the republic's throat before an unfortunate reaction from the people occurs?
I wouldn't expect any tough questions.
Right on that one. Gregory will lob in soft balls and BO will hit them out of the park. Just another duty day for the president.
Obama has a very socialist agenda. Just do some reading up on it with facts backed up in the books with indisputable information. He spent the largest portion of his time prior to becoming president associating with known socialist people and organizations and associated even with some communist people and organizations. The mainstream media have chosen to ignore all of this factual information. Fox News is the ONLY network who dares to expose Obama. The man has lied to us time and time again. He does not have the best interest of America in his agenda. We are going into a place I never dreamed America would go. You supporters of Obama just keep on believing...I just shake my head and wonder why any logical and levelheaded person cannot see all that has occurred for what it is...God help us all.
According to you and FOX the majority of people think a certain way but they are the ones who are wrong, the minority knows better so they should rule. Does that sound like a Democracy?
Oh that's right you actually think you are the majority based on...? Nothing based in fact like polls or the election!
Perhaps the best judge of Obama's alleged socialism would be a real, honest-to-Pete socialist. In 2009, Billy Wharton, editor of The Socialist magazine, rose to the task, stating that "Not only is [Obama] not a socialist, he may in fact not even be a liberal." To explain why the president was, in his words, a "hedge-fund democrat," Wharton cited Obama's refusal to structurally change the financial system, his refusal to institute single-payer health care, and his aggressive foreign policies -- all of which would be grounds for kicking him out of the socialist club...it's worth noting that Obama's much-attacked health care plan is based around private enterprise -- not around government control of the means of production. It uses private insurers and private hospitals to handle the flow of medical care (and, not incidentally, those private institutions will reap a large share of the profits that are generated by a more widely-insured populace). For that matter, his proposed top income tax rate -- 39.5% on the highest income bracket -- is a fraction of Richard Nixon's top rate of 70% or Dwight Eisenhower's 92% rate.
Of course Obama has people covering his back...it's his style...people lie for him upon request with no questions asked...AMAZING! Of course his associations are not going to bust him...remember Reverend Wright...David Petraeus...etc. etc. etc...funny how these people who could do damage to Obama just POOF...disappear. Secretary Clinton has done everything she can to avoid testifying...ever wondered why? Never mind...I know you probably think nothing is amiss in all the Benghazi debacle. I have to say that I have never seen the likes of what this administration is getting away with...without question from anyone except Fox News. Say what you will about Fox News, but I could no longer watch mainstream media news when they were CLEARLY in Obama's pocket...they only report what they absolutely must to APPEAR to be unbiased...and that's very little.
And...YEA...OSAMA BIN LADEN IS DEAD! Yes...I think he deserved to die and was a useless and cruel human being. But...like the Chicago Mob, don't you think someone else is standing by anxiously waiting to fulfill Bin Laden's leadership? Of course they are...as we have already seen and will continue to see. Oh...by the way...you may want to research Obama's ties with the Nation of Islam. How many coincidences can there be? I reached my limit before Obama was ever elected in the first place, with his vetting being so far below par that I could not believe it. Four years later, I find America in the worst place it has ever been. Obama likes to brag about our position in the world...it seems to me that the world is finding us to be weaker and weaker...in many ways we have become a laughingstock. Again...God help us all!!!!!!!!!!
To..bevery.."""
Ahh another silly fox news believer ...they been wrong about anything and everything since their inception in 1996...
doesn't it even register you been lied to...look at the nonsense in your posts ..puked up ad nauseum ..none of it true or that makes any sense
but fox has got the easily led in their pocket

Obama will call out the GOP on Sunday,..
Of course he won't debate the problem with anyone.
The last ditch effort,to redeem the dems.
The gop,are,trapped in a corner,,,,hmmmm
That's good The liberal press is giving him a wide audience to tell us how the Republicans are responsible for the mess this country is in, and for the record deficit resulting from profligate Democrat spending (not to mention the extra 250,000 to 00,000 it will cost us citizens for Obama's bimbo and his brats to fly back separately from Hawaii).
Sux to be you..
They're not interested in the news anymore. Don't even try to hide it now. They only want one side to get a forum.
Actually the press has been pretty even handed when they blame both parties for this impasse. The road blocks are clear when you look at how much the President has agreed with House Leader's plan.
What has happened is kind of like this:
This is not a negotiation when one side says my way or the highway, especially when they are the ones who lost the election. The voters want Obama's plan if not he wouldn't be President.
Sux to be me? No. It sux to be all of us. BO sycophants are mere lemmings following the Dear Leader over the cliff. Followers of BO give him a pass on everything. BO is not made to act on the behalf of the American citizenry, he's just staying in the end zone doing the salsa victory dance. For the next four years. America is stewed thanks to the majority of Americans who make their living on "entitlements".
To CK..."''
and republicans are all for doling out corporate welfare to their benefactors and where has that gotten us in the last decade of the bush tax cuts ..but lets kick the elderly ..disabled ..the poor ...yaa that's the GOP plan their easy to denigrate and kick around while they line there pockets from their corporate masters who don't even know their being taken for a ride..
and after no one was held to account for this mess created by wall street somebody has to be scapegoated and blamed for the downturn ..and who better to blame than the the ones that don't have the means to fight back..
"Obama's bimbo and his brats to fly back separately from Hawaii)."
You are a vile piece of white trash @!$%#
I would suggest that all Republicans watch Sunday.. They just might learn something.
Like what? How to not do much and blame everyone else? Or maybe blame everyone before you for the issues? Or maybe be more concerned with your own agenda with little leniency and selfish unjustifiable demands?
I think both parties for the past decade or so are already up to speed on that.
I do love a good comedy.
The election is over but Obama is still campaigning. One would think he would be interested in leading the country. What do you expect from someone who would only commit to being present most of his political career.
By one, you mean people in Texas? I know you people are confused but a political science class or 2 might help.
Hell, congress has been on vacation for two years. They have had since late 2011 to pass legislation that would avoid the present day circumstance. But Republicans saw their number one job being the prevention of a second Obama term. As usual, they failed again. Bet "Native" didn't say a word when Perry abandoned his governor's job for almost 8 months to run for office. He cashed his state-issued checks, though he didn't do a single thing to earn them.
Our winer in chief. Do something Oblamer, this is your mess.
Why do so many people think this deal should be made in the back rooms. Why is the right wing radicals afraid of taking their argument directly to the American people. Obama is not campaigning. He already whipped Mitts A$$. He is bringing his argument to the American people. Its called transparancy. We still dont know what kind of deal was made with the oil companies 10 years ago but know they have been making record profits ever since. I am sure if McConnell and Boehner had anything to add to the conversation they can go on a Sunday Morning news-show. Boehner cant even get his caucus to agree to the GOP plan B and McConnell couldnt even do his stated job of making Obama a one term president.
The TPGOP loses in the eyes of the American people no matter what happens. They are a divided party. House democrats won more votes in November than did House tp/republicans.
.
Stop with the mandate crap. A 2% voter swing changing the winner does not make anything a whipping. A win? Yes. A mandate? No.
The bigger problem here is that both parties continually give their constituents the same representatives to vote for. And none of them are generally worth the effort. We are constantly voting for the lesser of two evils, and the swing from left to right is cyclic.
Good point
W thought he had a mandate when he lost by half a million in the popular vote. Obama won and is going straight to the American people to argue his point. Let the TPGOP argue their point in public too.
I guess he doesn't have time to go on The View again.
Ha-ha. MSNBC and it's list of parrots on here again. How silly that people think the GOP actually says, "Hey, let's just hold America hostage so we can keep the rich rich". What a bunch of Democratic lemmings! Swallowed it hook, line, and sinker.
The reality is that the Democrats have not put forth a serious proposal to deal with the real problem of spending. EVERY serious economist, every one of them says this can't get fixed without serious cuts. The tax increases the President proposes to fire up the masses will give the government eight days of spending.
Of course, it will hurt business and jobs, but since when has Obama cared about jobs? Let 'em have it.
So, Dems, where the beef? Tell us what the President and his (ahem) "leadership" have proposed to help. Nothing.
He wants the GOP to do the heavy lifting. The President divides (America) and conquers for his party. Terrible President. Great PR department.
My goodness how could people look at everything they do and not conclude they are a party for the rich? Why do you suppose that rich people donate millions to the Republicans? Look at who wants everyone to get ahead and who is always for what is good for the wealthy and you will know.
I see lots of talking points in your post and not much else, think for yourself! A moderate you are not!
To..Moderate"""
You do know there were billions if not a trillion forget the exact number.. in spending cuts back during the republican debt ceiling debacle back in 2011
and 0 in revenue from the other side ...or cuts to anything the repubs champion ziltch....
try again
The sad fact of the matter is that we are all screwed. Anybody with any sense at all knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that we don't tax too little, we spend too much. But, our political system rewards leeches who spend the most time in Congress by bringing back billions in pork-barrel projects to their constituents, so NOBODY on either side of the aisle really wants to fix the problem. Only two things will save the United States as we knew it growing up; (1) Term limits on Congress like on the President. Go to DC for two terms then get your butt back to work, and (2) Balanced Budget Amendment. Live like the rest of us. Take in X amount of money = Spend X amount of money. Not gonna happen and it's the fault of ALL of us/them for letting it happen over the past 50 years. I don't personally like or agree with Obama, but he's no worse than any of the rest of them.
Actually taxes versus GDP are at their lowest.
I'm with Obama on this one. It doesn't affect me, so I just don't care.
Republicans here stating that BOTH parties are at fault are making "some" progress toward sanity, Maybe soon they will realize Democrats are fighting FOR THEM
Our County just put forth a proposal to raise full time workers to $16k per year
At that rate the Bush taxcuts literally gave them the price of a "Happy Meal" on their paycheck while giving someone making $1 million the equivilent of 10 years of their wages
No they won't. If they don't understand this by now, it will never happen.
Hopefully Gregory will show off a Washington D.C illegal 30 round assault rifle magazine so the Prez can comment on anti-gun legislation. The authorities will be waiting for Gregory after the show but the Almighty Obama will grant him immunity ................
Just completely ran out of excuses for Republican political ignorance eh?
What's wrong Bo, the truth getting to you? Gregory did screw up but the liberal looking the other way as he gleefully gets fudge packed by Obama like the rest of the clowns.
I would be willing to bet that Gregory is right now going over the question's that the WH sent over for him to ask.
Maybe so but the ones he actually asks will be less illuminating!
Does Las Vegas have a line on that? If not, check with the right wing crazies. They know stuff that nobody else knows.
Get the name right - DAVID
Great idea. Screw the country. Meet the Press.
Maybe if the Vacationer-in-Chief spent more time in his office and less time burning aviation fuel and appearing on talk shows he might get something done. As he was lying errr I mean campaigning the first time, he promised to do away with lobbyists, have a transparent administration, and "reach across the aisle" instead of doing "business as usual in Washington" and he has yet to keep even one of those promises. Instead he spent all of his political capital ramming through a health care bill that no one wanted, understood, or could afford at the worst possible time as far as the economy goes. The whole thing was nothing but a big game of liars poker. His idea of "reaching across the aisle" quickly became "it's my way or the highway." Don't get me wrong, I dislike the Republicans every bit as much. ALL politicians ARE crooks, thieves, and liars right down to the very last man and woman BOTH sides of the aisle but Chairman ObaMAO has taken lying and made it an art form. The saddest part is that we know this but more than half of us just keep voting them right back in so I guess we deserve what we get. Remember plastic surgery Pelosi saying "we don't get to see what's in the bill until we pass it"? There's transparency for you. The average voter has the IQ of about an eighth grader and cast their votes based on who they think is going to give them something for free. Well you're about to find out just what "free" costs as the sheeple run headlong over the cliff.
Another Republican who is ,,,,,,,,,,,Almost there, Fed up with the right but still can't bring himself to tell the truth about ANYTHING.
Vacationer in Chief?? Obama took less vacation time during his first 4 years than Reagan, Bush Sr, Or Bush Jr (Possibly less in that 4 years than Bush Jr in one month?) (Clinton actually was a vacation, A horn blowing, joke cracking, woman chasing,,,,,Budget Balancing,,,,,Vacation for the USA, lol)
Do away with lobbiest? Hahahaha About as likely as the right doing away with Gays, Blacks, and Women who want equal rights and pay? (Not very likely)
I've NEVER in over 50 years seen a President reach across the aisle as much as Obama (Only to have his hand slapped time after time) He is just starting to act like he is getting miffed about it now.
No one said we couldn't see whats in the bill before it was passed, I'd read it myself months before that. She basically said they would not know the final results of it's impact before it was passed (and we still will not for several years)
WAKE UP!!!!!!
well said
Less Meet the Press and more Meet the Senate and Congress. We've heard enough.
Now THIS I agree with, Although he has laid out his bottom line he really SHOULD be present and pushing for it anytime they are there to listen.
Why must we again be burdened with Obama's babble . . . he'll spend an entire hour talking about himself and blaming everybody on God's green earth for his own incompetence and lack of leadership. Somebody please, just tell him to stay home and be quiet.
LOL,,,,,,,,Stick to reading the Sunday comics
Not necessary, Bo - he is part of the Sunday comics.
Obama's Meet the Press appearance will be nothing more than a puff ball appearance. Gregory will not ask anything difficult. Obama should be spending the time with Boehner, Pelosi, Reid, and McConnell to resolve the impending financial crisis.
The president has yet to show any willingness to compromise. While it is rarely mentioned, the Democrats and Obama had control of the House, Senate, and the WHite House the first two years of Obama's first term and were unable to come up with either a budget or any long term solution to the growing deficit. The American people responded (and have continued to respond) by returning to split party governance by electing a Republican House. This should be an indication to all involved that BOTH parties are expected to compromise - not just one. The current financial mess is the result of mismanagement by BOTH parties. The Republicans and the Democrats need to stop blaming each other. Yes, taxes will have to be increased AND there is going to have to be serious cuts in all areas of government - including entitlements - we have far too many able people on the government dole (of one sort or another).
You do understand that this is Congress' responsibility, right? In particular the Republicans in the House - or the obstructionist fraction thereof which is still saying no to everything. The President cannot 'make' anything happen. By Constitutional law, bills originate in the House, go to the Senate, get reconciled between them and THEN - and only then - either get signed into law, or vetoed. The idea is to get legislation drafted that will pass the House, then the Senate and get the President's signature. At least that's how it's supposed to work.
I wish Obama would name names of the people that are being obstructionists instead of just saying the generic term of republican. We need to know who the real dirt bags are so they can be singled out.
"Harry Reid".
There, by name.
The Republicans passed a revenue bill in June that closes the tax loopholes that those liberals love to hate and would create $700,000,000 in new revenue.
It's collecting dust in Reid's in-box.
Barack Obama insists on tax increases and refuses spending cuts and isn't budging, seems just a tad "obstructionist" as well.
The complete list is here:
