Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ)
- The vice chair of the Republican Governors Association, Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) is his first term as governor. A recent Monmouth University/Asbury Park Press Poll, out Thursday, found Christie’s approval rating at 53 percent among all New Jersey residents and 55 percent among registered voters. Christie is up for re-election next year.
- Christie is a familiar face on the campaign trail, stumping for Republican candidates around the country in states like New Hampshire and Iowa. While speaking at a rally for New Hampshire gubernatorial hopeful Ovide Lamontagne, Christie said Mitt Romney will get a boost from the upcoming presidential debates. He said, “He’ll be for the first time on the same stage as the president of the United States. I think when people make that comparison, momentum’s going to head in his direction.”
- Christie’s trips to states like Iowa and New Hampshire have fueled speculation he is laying the foundation for a 2016 presidential run. He has said, “If I’m back in New Hampshire in 2016, I hope it’s campaigning with President Romney for re-election.”

Roundtable:
- Founder and chairman of the Faith and Freedom Coalition Ralph Reed served as a senior adviser to the Bush/Cheney campaigns in 2000 and 2004, and as the executive director of the Christian Coalition from 1989-1997. Reed’s organization will be calling, visiting and reaching out to conservative religious voters in 15 key states to try to boost voter turnout for Mitt Romney. Reed has said that in response to this effort, Democrats like Sen. Harry Reid are trying to discourage evangelical voters by reminding them Romney is Mormon. He said, “I don’t think it’s an accident that within 72 hours after we announced the biggest voter mobilization effort ever among evangelical voters that they play the religion card.” He is also the author of "The Confirmation."
- Former Gov. Ed Rendell (D-PA) said this week that both President Obama and Mitt Romney were at their best speaking at the U.N. General Assembly and Clinton Global Initiative, respectively. Rendell said, “I think the debates are going to be very interesting. These debates are not going to be a slam dunk for President Obama as many people say. Gov. Romney is very effective in that type of venue and setting and he looks presidential, so I think these debates are going to be very, very interesting.” He is also author of “A Nation of Wusses” and the former chair of the Democratic National Committee. Here is Rendell’s last Meet the Press appearance.
- Katty Kay, Washington Correspondent and Anchor for BBC World News America, said recently of the Romney campaign, that there “is time to turn some of this around to get the campaign back on track with the debates” and if he fills in specifics and tells people how he will make the next four years better than the president will make the next four years he “has a chance to get positive focus back on his campaign.” Kay also co-authored the book, "Womenomics." Watch her last appearance on the show here.
- NBC News Political Director Chuck Todd pointed out on Friday that recent polling shows Romney is behind in all nine of those states. He said, “At best, he’s within the polls’ margin of error, at worst he trails by as many as eight points.” Todd also explains exactly how the president’s approval ratings and Romney’s favorability ratings in these nine states will factor in on Election Day. I am going to vote this year and I cannot label my views; I
am just your average American. I am not impressed what anyone running for the Senate,
House or White House.
I do know this! The economy sucks, and this is just not
about this president or election. If you want to blame someone, blame President
Clinton and the GOP who gave us, Natta, Caftan and free trade with China. So
being both political parties have been giving the shaft to America for decades!
We are left with an option of who will screw us the least.
Flip a coin.
As Vice Chair of the Republican Governor’s Association, Governor Christie supports Republican Governors that support State business tax cuts and the Bush tax cuts while cutting State funding for Public Service jobs at the same time, and refusing Federal funding assistance to keep those jobs.
In most cases, a Republican tax cut is given to business owners whether or not they invest the money in their own businesses, or in contracting with other businesses and therefore, does not guarantee the economy, or the general taxpayers, a 100% return. How can Republican leaders possibly view the risk of tax cut money just sitting in business owners personal savings accounts, possibly, being worth more to the economy than the family income from Public Service Employees wages, which pays their bills to businesses?
As far as the debate goes, I would like to hear how Mitt Romney’s proposed International Territorial Corporate Tax policy, placing tax exemption on corporate overseas money brought back to America, is not going to cause a rush of corporate money to go overseas just so it will qualify, and cause our banks to fail.
Ralph Reed and the “Christian” Vote…
Over 2000 years ago a man the Son of God walked this Earth with a message. It was to be the New and Everlasting Covenant, for Christians around the world. The New Testament came with many blessings and many warnings. This man Jesus Christ summed up his message to the world and to all Christians in the Sermon on the Mount. To most believers in Jesus, the Sermon on the Mount contains the central tenets of Christian discipleship. To Catholics the Beatitudes are the central message of the Sermon. For those of you that are not Christian or that are Christian but have not or do not read the Bible the Beatitudes are a great summary to refer too and they go like this:
The eight beatitudes in Matthew 5:3–12 during the Sermon on the Mount are stated as Blessed/Happy/Fortunate are:
In Luke the Beatitudes are followed by the FOUR WOES, Woe unto to you:
The danger of “NOT” reading the Bible is that men like Ralph Reed can manipulate your Faith in God; these are the false prophets you were warned about. Ralph Reeds past behaviors betray his so called Faith. He has put himself out there as the voice of a Christians, yet has deceived and corrupted the message of Christ. Before you give your support to this morally bankrupt man with the corrupt message let me remind you of what he has done to you in the past:
(Olasky, Marvin, World Today News Christian Views, February 17, 2006) March 20, 2001 - Jack Abramoff (JA) and Ralph Reed (RR) are manipulating evangelicals for the benefit of their casino clients, and Mr. Reed wants his pay: JA writes to an associate that RR "is out of money. He has asked us to get another $250K asap." Here come the checks: "Pay to the order of Century Strategies [RR's company] Two Hundred Thousand Dollars…. Pay to the order of Century Strategies One Hundred Ninety-Eight Thousand Dollars."
Reed was named in the scandal arising from lobbying work performed by Jack Abramoff on behalf of Indian gambling tribes. E-mails released by federal investigators in June 2005 revealed that Reed secretly accepted payments from Abramoff to lobby against Indian casino gambling and oppose an Alabama education lottery.
You can look up the scandal yourself, but the point is he manipulated the Faithful. Ralph Reed now wants another go at it. Sending out a questionaire that goes against everything that we are taught in the New Testament; it is deceptive, it bears false witness and again tries to manipulate the Faithful.
The Republican Party espouses that they are the “Christian Values” party, but they speak for the rich, they suppress the vote, they call democrats “Bleeding Hearts” as if that were bad, they say that caring for the poor, the sick and the disenfranchised is a bad thing, but making money and avarice are good things now. The GOP sows dissention among the races and the World Religions in the Name of God. Isaiah 5:20 “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”
As a Catholic I try my best to be the best person I can be, Christ-like is what the Gospels ask. Ralph Reed has been everything but. Do not be fooled my fellow Christians, beware there are many out there that say they are Christians but are not following the message of Christ…Matthew 7:16 “You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorn-bushes, or figs from thistles?” If the message sounds NEGATIVE it is NOT “CHRISTIAN”…
Follow your heart you know what is right and what is wrong…Republicans have strayed…Listen to their words, are they Christ-like? Jesus Christ never turned his back on the poor, the sick or the disenfranchised… May God Bless you…
Chris Christie? I don't support or accept fat marriage, or fat leadership.
Ralph Reed? You people let Ralph Reed, the so-called Christian Con Man spew his evil BS on the public broadcast airwaves? Gave this devil a national forum? Now you all will face the wrath of GOD jinnbad.blogspot.com
