Marti Kay, I think you need to stop assuming people are trying to say something they aren't. Ann Romney was in no way trying to "level the playing field", she was fighting back this ridiculous idea that just because they haven't struggled with financial problems means they haven't struggled in their lives and are unable to empathize with other people. I am so sick of this liberal narrative that people who are rich can't empathize with those who aren't.

Of course liberals who say that now certainly don't think the same of John Kerry, do they? The hypocrisy is astounding.

Gov. Romney told David Gregory that he didn't expect to be able to balance the budget before the end of a second term. Why does his campaign keep faulting Pres. Obama for not turning our economy back around by the end of his first term -- after Republican policies under G.W. Bush brought America to the verge of another Great Depression. Plus, 9/11 happened on Bush's watch and in the following 7 years Bush failed to bring Bin Ladin to justice; Pres. Obama got it done in 3 years. Yes ! We are better off than we were 4 years ago and this President deserves another term to finish the recovery he has laid the groundwork for.

Why does Peggy Noonan not give the President his due respect? Time and time again she calls him Mr. Obama but has no trouble giving Governor Romney his respect as former governor, which is the right thing to do. A little respect would go a long way Ms. Noonan.

How scripted is this interview? All we are hearing are the canned answers we've been hearing for months.

Guests on Parties v. PEOPLE were objecting to the atmosphere of prejudice against Muslims. They are advocating understanding, tolerance,lofty platitudes,etc. I didn't hear a single comment e.g.Muslim groups on college campuses that are openly advocating & promoting anti-semitism, hatred, negative slogans. Time and time again, newspapers, both college publications & general press, have reported these type of happenings, group meetings, etc

Romney "lying?" Instead of shrilling the same ol’ same ol’ broad sweeping claims of "lie" - why don't you spewers be specific and identify each and every "lie" you
allege, then verify your claim with facts – not your personal “feelings.” Romney
was direct, reasonable and plain speaking with Dick Gregory. In particular “I’m
as conservative as the Constitution.” The genius of our Constitution is that it’s
impeccably just, easy to understand and stay. What part of it do you not
understand?

That was a pathetic interview by David Gregory. Talk about soft ball questions. Where was the follow up questions? Too much butt kissing.

David - like you, but what a weak interview!! Where was the follow up??? You asked for specifics and when Romney just gave you political speak, you moved on. Man up and follow up on those opportunities! Your viewership will go down if you continue to be a weak interviewer. So many have taken the time to write the same - get better at interviewing and be more aggressive - drill down to get the answer to the question you ask ... or you'll end up being the vapid co-host of Today.

David Gregory did a dismal job interviewing Romney. Meet The Press has had a proud history of fair, tough interviews. Todays spectacle was disgusting. The press should be keeping our politicians honest, not carrying their water. What is NBC thinking of, keeping David Gregory as the host? Gregory dishonors every MTP host who preceded him.

I was very disappointed with David Gregory's interview this morning. First, it should never have been held on Mr. Romney's bus or on top of a building. He should have come into the studio where, maybe, just maybe David Gregory would have been more inclined to ask some tough questions and follow up with facts. This was such a weak interview. I do miss Tim Russert's line of questioning. Then the follow-up panel: here, too, David should have put their feet to the fire when they tried to blow smoke. Data/facts do not lie. I don't know if Mr. Gregory simply did not do his homework or if he was afraid to use follow-up questions with data/facts. This was another missed opportunity to show the voters who and what Mr. Romney and the Republican Party really stands for.

The interview was lame and a sham. It was like Romney asked the questions himself and answered with the same stupid lame duck face he makes. I got one of his campaign brochures in the mail I tore it up put liar on it and mailed it back to his campaign quarters. Romney and the Republican party stands for themselves and the heck with the American people.

I saw the interview , just like I said at Rachel Maddows blog , we are not going to learn anything new as long as David Gregory is still hosting Meet The Press...and I was right..

The big news coming out of this interview ?.. Mitt Romney thinks it was a mistake for republicans to agree to the automatic budget cuts... Wow !...

And I thought we would actually get to learn what his plans are to get 23 million people back to work !..

DAVID GREGORY , You absolutely SUCKED !.. weak interview no question on why he will not release more tax returns.. No questions about offshore accounts in places like the Cayman Islands.. No questions on his stance when it comes to abortion , in case of rape or incest or the life of the mother..

I agree with many of the posts that reflected disappointment with the interview. Lawrence O'Donnell would be the perfect choice for Meet the Press. David seems to be afraid to offend his guests.

I wish we had true journalism again. I really don't know why reporters won't call mitt out on all of his inconsistent views and how hypocritical his whole campaigner ally is . This why I don't watch mainstream media news it is so one sided and they don't research the truth.

you've got high blood pressure, prostate cancer, osteoporosis or heart disease.
Sorry, that's a pre-existing condition which WOULD have been covered under
Obamacare, but no longer. We're sorry, but your medications won't be covered,
either. And be happy because you didn't have to go before any death panel to
arrive at this sorry state.

I think we have to live with a fact about the GOP. The party cannot ever tell people, even their supporters, at least the ones that aren't millionaires, what they will actually do if they have the chance. If theydid, they would never elect another Republican to national office. They get away with it in some congressional districts - the ones gerrymandered to the point of idiocy. But, not with most Senate races and definitely not for President.

Consequently the GOP must lie, obfuscate and demonize the opponent to
elect a President. We get lies about them wanting to preserve Medicare. Theycan't tell the truth - they want to eliminate it, they always have. They can't tell the truth about lowering taxes for the wealthy - it's not about creating jobs, it's about taking care of their big donors. They can't tell the truth about global warming - they know it's happening, they don't care because any action to save the planet would hurt profits. They can't tell the truth about spending - they are not against spending, they just want to spend on the military and their corporate sponsors. The can't tell the truth about the size of government - they don't want a small government, they want a government so big it can police every womb.

To elect a President, Republicans have to lie because no one in their right mind would buy what they are actually selling.

How can Mitt Romney, who has repeatedly changed his political stance on just about everything, say voters should count on his principles? What exactly are those principles? Click on the blog for more regarding the Republican candidate's supposed "principles."

Well, once again, Gregory softballed the Republicans. This is one reason I no longer watch MTP on a regular basis. Tim could be tough but fair - Gregory, not so much. It's time for a new host.

Mitt Romney asserts that his plan will take 8 to 10 years to fix the economy, but he trashes President Obama for not fixing the Republicans' mess in four years. With his logic, then President Obama should have 8 - 10 years to repair what George Bush and the republicans blew up!
