"widget in Texas" seems to be suggesting that if Romney is elected in November, he'll snap his fingers, repeal Obama's health care legislation, spare the horribly "overburdened" wealthy from paying any more than 13% on their income, and those 23 million will have jobs. I doubt it will be so easy. And, if he's so concerned about 23M unemployed, how about 40 MILLION with NO HEALTH INSURANCE when they repeal the ACA? Where's the huge concern about THAT?

All right, first of all, let's remember that 5% unemployment is considered very good. So we would nomarlly have over 14 million unemployed to begin with under the best of circumtances. So we are 7 million over very good.

Second, if you go back and look at the stats, you'll see that we lost about 7 million jobs in the months just before and just after Bush left office. These were his job losses.

Third, it has been the GOP's mission from even before Obama was sworn in to do everything possible to keep him from improving the economy. It's a credit to his administration that we weren't driven further down into the abyss.

What's more, under McCain it is entirely likely that the Bush Great Recession would have turned into the 2nd Depression.

So, do I think we are better off than 4 years ago? YES! In spite of the GNOP.

What I want to consider is whether I am better off now than I would be four years from now under Romney? I believe the answer is that I am far better off now than I would be then.

by all means let him continue to bankrupt our country! NOT!!!!!

Was America debt free on January 20, 2009? NO, in fact we had an $11 Trillion dollar debt that was accumulated in the span of 8 years, even though the last Democrat administration left office with a projected surplus.

Did the previous administration pass two (2) tax cuts and a prescription drug bill that were not paid for? YES, and the Vice-President of that administration told us "deficits don't matter." I did not hear one Republican stand up and call that Vice-President a liar, or accuse him of "mortgaging our children and grand-children's future".

Do the current Republican candidates for President and Vice-President prescribe the same economic model for America as the previous Republican administration? YES, and to make it work they hired the same Republican advisers who worked for the last Republican administration.

Do rational thinking Americans know the difference between ineffective leadership and political obstructionism as practiced by the Republican's in the House and Senate since January 2009? YES, and the one's that I know intend to hold those Republican House and Senate members accountable at the ballot box come November 6th.

So, all of you Romney/Ryan supporters go right ahead and believe that President Obama is solely and singularly responsible for unemployment still being above 8%, that the debt is another $5 Trillion dollars more because he spent all that money (guess ya'll forgot about the interest payments on $11 Trillion), and that the AHCA law (which provided immediate health care relief to the poor, children with pre-existing conditions, and young people who are not in college and can't afford to pay for health care) is wrong because it requires the DEAD BEATS WHO CAN AFFORD HEALTH CARE BUT ARE TO STINGY TO PAY FOR IT to pay a fine. No instead you would rather that the rest of us who DO HAVE HEALTH CARE pay higher premiums because of the deadbeats who use emergency rooms as patient care centers.

You Romney/Ryan supporters are either:

a) Independently wealthy and therefore you do not worry about the ordinary everyday pressures that befall your fellow man, or

b) McCain/Palin supporters who didn't vote for the President in 2008 anyway.

Either way you are entitled to vote as you please, just don't do as your candidates do and think that by simply repeating your ideological LIES ad nausem they will somehow become truths.

The Democrats didn't start reckless spending. It was prior to 2006 that Bush started two wars, AND CUT TAXES. Every other President raised taxes to pay for war. Duh.
