A disappointing finish to the convention.

As a viewer home watching this from my Computer, I didn't get a vision to re-unite the country, especially at the time when it is so clear that who ever wins may not be able to govern after such a virulent campaign.

We saw the candidate's big family, but we needed to see him come back from the podium and hug a few more people. They spent the whole night telling us how he is a very warm and loving grand parent, we needed to see him hugging his grand kids and singing the last song with arms around each other. To show Romney as an open person by the many speeches was good but his luck of spontaneity made the whole thing look staged. You could see Ryan running after the kids on the podium, I would have loved to see Romney do the same. To the very end, it looked like Ryan wanted him to go back through the convention delegates and it may be a decisions he will regret.

More disturbing however, was his ideas on foreign policy. He antagonized a foreign head of state with the second largest pile of nuclear weapons in what can only be perceived as lack of preparation. Iran is an old song and Russia is way older, he needed to sell his vision of the US in the world the way he did his business credentials and he failed. While in business you take some risks, with some success and failures, I don't think a US president should take any risks with another potential nuclear stalemate with Russia over the next four years.

In conclusion, I am sold on Romney the husband, father, grandfather, church elder and corporate executive. I am however not sold on Romney President. His job will not be to take other people's money and invest it in venture enterprises; it would be to lead the greatest army on the planet and a very divided country in a very dangerous world. Wishing for a Russian enemy of decades past will not do the trick. He needs to see a little more complexity and a little more assertive to both his handlers and his party.

NO specifics on his plans for the country... just more image creation. When will the press hold these candidates responsible for their obscure policy ideas and the untruths they use for sound bites. I don't see hard questions for guests on Meet the Press. Where is Tim Russert when we need him?

Mr. Eastwood showed much disrespect for this President, who by the way Clint, does not curse...his people all know this. What makes me sad and ask this question....if you do not like who wins...do you refuse to work with him as the republicans did? Is this the new policy or plans for the future...so if Romney wins and we do not like him...do we not work with him? If this country has not progressed as it should have...republicans can share some of the blame. When they allow an infrastructure bill to sit 11 months just because they don't want a President to succeed...how American is this? By the way Mitt...your sentence about if we want to get big things done..we need an American was not only insulting but incorrect. This American, Obama, had no problem submitting his taxes willingly to have them gone over while, you, my friend are still holding yours up and are refusing to show more than two years. And,by the way are saying they wont be ready until the end of Oct.....isnt this election in the beginning of Nov? How clever of you, Mitt...just what are you hiding? This American President Obama has no problems showing his taxes but you have most of your money in foreign banks and in the CAymen Islands not to pay taxes to the country you now want to run??? David, Milk toast summary! WHy didn't you mention the out right lies told? You just have no backbone. This entire convention was loaded with lies, misrepresentations about the people in office. I agree that Obama has disappointed in many ways, but the fault doesn't entirely rest as his feet. Congress who is supposed to work for the people have stone walled the president for the control of the white house while the public is suffering. The republicans decided to throw the casualties of this depression under the bus for CONTROL! The teaparty high jacked the republicans along with the Koch brothers and Norquist! The republicans left office NOT PAYING for the 2 wars, and Medicare part D. They used the credit card and left office leaving the bill to arrive with the next president!!! Who ever has a war and doesn't pay for it??? You have yet to challenge any of your guests on these issues. And, while having a "do nothing" congress Obama has managed to eek out some accomplishments. I watched the convention for at least 20 minutes. I wanted to see what he Romney was all about. I was not surprised that he really has nothing to talk about. Funny how he puts the President down, Because I see he doesnt really know any thing about what this country is. It was Bush that put us were we were when the President took over, I can not trust a Repulican. sorry! If you do your research you will find out how much has changed for the better. Not perfect, but better. In a possitive direction. I will be voting for President Obama!

As an Independent, I have no party loyalties. I think that you have to answer several questions yourself. And remember I'm not sold yet on who to vote for, lime several here in the pists that will just vote because of the party.

Has this president closed Gitmo

Has this president increased the labor pool

Has this president stopped the war in Afganistan

Has this president reduced the national Debt

has ths president increased emplyment or increased unemployment

And I remind you that these were his promises to me!

I don't waste me vote on a candidate because of commercials or my hatred for the other party. I have not decided to vote again for Obama either. My question is will he duplicate the next four years after his last four years, and trust trust me you can't continue to blame all of his actions on Bush. The man has added more National Debt than all other Presidents combined....Check out snoopes. I vote for what is good for America not what is good for my party. As a women, I commend Newt for his comments about the abortion issue. I am very disappointed with David and the others and how they could again try to state that most women believe in late term abortion. Shame on you! Greetings. I am very astonished that nobody questioned Carl Fiorina when she said the KeystoneXL would provide a million jobs. It has been reported by independent Cornell study that more jobs would come from alternatives and most for Keystone would be part time less than 10% of what she said. This is a devastating project for humanity and as the scientists reported not in the best interest of America or the World.
