Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) previewed Mitt Romney's primetime convention address tonight saying it will have a mix of elements from both the “head” and the “heart.”
Ayotte is one of the many young female GOP stars that were showcased this week at the party’s gathering in Tampa. After last week’s “rape” comments from Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO), the Republican party has had to deal with the resurgence of the abortion rights debate and talk of the “gender gap.” The party also just adopted a platform that does not include exceptions on abortion in cases of rape, incest and the life of the mother. Mitt Romney, on the other hand, does believe in having those exceptions.
When asked how Mitt Romney's views on this square with the party, Sen. Ayotte said, "there's wide room in our party for diverse views on those issues. ... That is demonstrated [by] our nominee and many in our party who have their own personal views on these issues, and we respect that."
The freshman senator also thinks the GOP is a different party than it was under the Bush administration and has become more fiscally responsible.
"I've acknowledged that when we look at the debt this is a bipartisan issue, that Republicans spent too much and Democrats spend too much." Ayotte pointed to budget proposals from Paul Ryan to show that the GOP is not "gonna duck the tough issues."

lol yea, shes a real beacon of hope and truth..she is bought and paid for by Wall st..dont believe me, check it out for yourself.
she is a puppett for the republicans how she ever got elected here i dont know hope ypu enjoyed your 1 term
As opposed to what? Being a puppet for the democrats which I guess would be preferable to you
How she got elected? She was easily the best candidate to represent NH. That is why she won over Hodes. She received 60% of the vote compared to 37% of the vote for that tool Paul Hodes.
I agree, but saying she's better than Hodes isn't saying much, I'm afraid.
There must be a balance of revenue increases as well as budget cuts. Budget cuts must be accross the board and not allow any department like defence, for example, to be exempt or to actually get more. Revenue increases can come from job creators who hire more people, those people pay income tax, the wealthy can cough up a couple of percent more until the crisis is over. Tariffs can be placed on goods made off shore for American companies like Stanley, and many others. Incentives can be given for companies who do research and development into alternative energy that will ease us from a fossil fuel based economy to a more renewable, safe, home grown energy. Incentives can be given to companies whose total workforce is in the US or who have at least 51% of their workforce in the US and punish those who headquarter off shore to avoid US taxation. US taxes are already among the lowest of industrialized countries. We also should have projects that combine the government and private enterprize to get it done. Infrastructure projects would fit in that category. A massive system of water pipelines could be constructed with pumps that would quickly move water from hurricane ravaged Louisiana, for example, to parched Iowa for farmers so crops don't suffer. But unless it is a pork barrel project Congresspersons aren't interested.
I don't know much about Sen. Ayote. I am sure she means well but unfortunately she is joining a party that is run by right wing extremists, Fascist wannabes and not the once grand old party of Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, and Dwight Eisenhower where they were willing to work with the opposition, compromise as necessary, for the good of the country and not some narrow ideology.
I agree...much could be done to improve things. It would be good for the Dems to put out more such things and for the repubs to stop Obstructing everything, just because of President Obama. Alot more could be done, and alot faster, it everyone got along. I bet our unemployment rate would be alot lower and therefore more taxes coming in, if there wasn't such obstruction.
If there was a government run health care, wouldn't that take the place of medicare too? Why would you need medicare if there was national health care as in europe. And why is Europe, if they are having influence on the president, a bad thing? Maybe some of their ideas are good ones, some not so good.
we have a military that is larger than the rest of the worlds put together! how much is enuff!?
China has 2.25 million active duty mililtary while the US has about 2.3 million counting reservists. So in terms of "size" your claim is false.
Typical liberal that just makes up whatever is needed to push a political stance. Defense is part of the Constitution, while most of the liberal agenda is not. So while you might think our military is more then enough, this is one area of our government where to big is better then to little.
Yes, Rick, but the Constitution doesn't say our defense establishment has to be bigger than the rest of the world combined.
Yes, the Republican platform covers the gamut from A to B.
While the Democrat platform just makes promises from A to Z. Make promises to everyone, deliver nothing. Then make the same promises the next campaign, as liberals have very short memories.
From the article: "...there's wide room in our party for diverse views on those issues."
Translation: As long as you agree with the GOP party line 100% there is no problem and no disagreement. Romney will be watched closely by the RNC's hand-picked choice for VP and Ryan will straighten Romney out whenever he strays from the Republican Party's neo-fascist ideology and narrow-minded policies. Can anyone give a brother a Sieg Heil?
@Sailcat-2064101: Agree with you. I said from the outset the tea party crowd would only allow Romney the candidacy if one of their own ran with Him with the power to dictate policy through Him. At least 6 weeks before the Ryan pick was revealed I believed It would be Ryan. This is a redo of "Cheney/Bush. Bush was the idiot President bumbling about with Cheney pushing policy through the idiot. Same thing here. Ryan is the real fuhrer, while Romney will be satisfied so long as He can get His share of the spoils. As always, my best regards.
Its still the party of no. When they work with the Dems.I will probably go back but not until then. The GOP got us into this and they think they are the only ones that can get us out .They think that Women belong in the kitchen and it blows my mind that Romney's wife backs him.I will be voting straight Democrat this year.I say no to the party of no.They are putting party before the USA.

Whenever we catch a GOP/Republican/Conservative/TeaBagger in a LIE we can post:
(This should become even more popular than "Bend it like Beckham", given how man more GOP/Republican/Conservative/TeaBagger LIARS there are versus soccer players world-wide. Can't throw a dead cat without hittin' a Lyin Ryan!)
