David Plouffe
- On Tuesday, the Washington Post published a story quoting David Plouffe on the rough couple of weeks President Obama had: “By November, it’s going to be about: Who do I trust more in [his] approach to the debt? Who do I trust more to create middle-class jobs? Who do I trust more to create an energy future? Who do I trust more as it relates to Afghanistan?”
- David Plouffe, who was the architect behind President Obama’s campaign in 2008, replaced David Axelrod as White House senior adviser in 2011.

Sen. John McCain
- Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) released a statement today criticizing President Obama’s announcement that his administration would stop departing young immigrants living in the country illegally, calling it "a politically motivated power grab that does nothing to further the debate but instead adds additional confusion and uncertainty to our broken immigration system."
- On Wednesday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) unveiled over twitter his top ten examples of “pork projects” in the Senate’s Farm Bill, arguing that the plan provides giveaways to numerous industries and agricultural producers. Drum roll please, the number one pork project is, “Creates new USDA office to inspect catfish. FDA already inspects catfish, so this one’s a real bottom-feeder. #FarmBillPork”
- Sen. John McCain is a five-term U.S. senator from Arizona and was the Republican presidential nominee in the 2008 election.

- On Nightly News, presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin called President Obama’s decision to announce his support of same-sex marriage an “extraordinary moment in the history of the country.”Watch her last appearance on MTP.
- Time’s Mark Halperin points out that the road to November is still filled with obstacles for Mitt Romney. He listed nine reasons, here are two: “There are some congressional and real-world moments coming up which will give Democrats a chance to push Romney to the right.” And, “The Democrats still have more paths to 270 electoral votes.” Watch his appearance on PRESS Pass.
- Former Rep. Harold Ford Jr. (D-TN) shared with MSNBC’s Morning Joe his support of Mayor Booker's comments on Mitt Romney’s record at Bain Capital, saying "Private equity is not a bad thing. Matter of fact, private equity is a good thing in many, many instances." Watch his last appearance on MTP.
- In her most recent column in The Wall Street Journal, Kim Strassel writes that Mitt Romney should embrace entitlements as groundwork for reform. She writes: “The alternative is for Mr. Romney to go Scott Walker and embrace reform as central to his stated desire to save the country for future generations. The positive GOP message makes the case that these changes save and strengthen these programs, giving Americans more choice. It notes bipartisan support for reform, and it contrasts that with Mr. Obama's own lack of leadership.” Watch her last appearance on MTP

McCain made a comment about foreign money seeping into the ROmney campaign. please ask about this.
McCain: "Much of Mr. Adelson's casino profits that go to him come from his casino in Macau, which says that obviously, maybe in a roundabout way foreign money is coming into an American political campaign... That is a great deal of money, and we need a level playing field and we need to go back to the realization... that we have to have a limit on the flow of money and corporations are not people."
The democratic party is passing through A crisis, and with the help BY supreme court,it has already SUFFERED various defeats in several states, and in all PROBABILITY the number of those defeats will be considerably augumented at the NOVEMBER election. In fact,we may regard it as reasonably CERTAIN that the democrats will come forth from those elections as A very SEVERELY punished PARTY.@
Rush Limbaugh has told his listeners that they should ignore all the science crap, and the scientist that spiel it. They are charlatans trying to confuse us all with mystic mumbo jumbo on all kinds of subjects, but especially the outrageous bull on global warming. He never finished college, but he makes a lot more money than a college grad. No he makes more money than thousands of college grads combined! So it makes sense to listen to what he has to say doesn’t it?
The guy is a lot like you and me. Rush loves guns and fast cars, and so do we. The talk show host owns a big plane. I wish I could afford one, but I can’t. I don’t have my own radio show with millions of listeners, and that got me to thinking about what he told all of us, about science.
Rush earns his living using an invention of science, broadcasting towers. They are powered by the scientific discovery of electricity. That has been around forever in the form of lightning, but scientist found a method to generate more of it, and to harness it. Limbaugh’s voice is converted to an electric signal and sent out over the airwaves, another scientific term. I have never seen one, but I believe it is there, because science has learned to convert the signal back into Rush’s voice. I hear it on my radio, another invention of science.
The invention of guns was the result of science, and all their improvements were the result of science. It seems to me that if it wasn’t for science all of his listeners would have the right to bear rocks. That isn’t as catchy as the right to bear arms.
Fast cars are the result of the scientific invention of the combustion engine. An engine with a lot of horsepower, another term invented by scientist to rate the engines. I know my car doesn’t have real horses under the hood; because I‘ve never found any feces under it, never. But you know what else; I know Rush Limbaugh believes in science too, even though he tells you and me not to believe in it. Otherwise, he would never get on that one-hundred-thousand-pounds of iron, that he calls his plane without believing it would lift into the air and take him to some other place.
The President has to act when congress stops performing their constitutional legislative duties. I just saw David Plouffe interviewed; he was asked why the President waited so long to act on immigration. It is pretty clear someone had to act.
Constitutional Professor Turley is wrong in his criticism. POTUS acts in the real world not constitutional theory. A branch has committed to dysfunction, that has to be dealt with, no matter how painful.
It is "we the people" who act when Congress does not act. The President can not subvert the people's representatives. Only Congress can legislate and providing work permits for illegals when Americans are having a hard time finding a job doesn't cut it. This is not the first time the President has bypassed Congress when they failed to act. Libya is a clear example. The Constitution is a legal document. It is not "theory" and President Obama and the Congress swore an oath and an allegiance to it and they have failed in their duty to America.
Is Obama president of the U.S. or Mexico?
He is "LOTFW" Leader of the free world, the almighty savior of the global planet, the greatest cause celeb since sliced bread was invented, bigger than big, larger than large. Now the RIO +20 summit this week follow's on Barack Obama's theme of "business as usual is not an option, we as a civil society also understand that governance as usual is not an option". What Obama is saying is that he wants a global form of government with global power through the United Nations to control everything and everyone. He makes these statements at every international summit he attends and you can find them in all UN reports.
He is not POTUS, and never has been. That is what he meant by change.
Watching your program this morning (6/17/12) I was looking forward to a good discussion on what shaped the president and Gov. Romney. Quite disappointing on the lack of comparison. First skip through what President Obama's father and step fatheron how they influence his idiology. Then just that Romney's father happened to have been born in Mexico. Poor reporting. But then again this is NBC and there is nothing unbias about your reporting. I guess this is the way you'll be till November!
I was looking forward to a comparison on what shapped the two people running for president. Disappointing, it was far from being informative or a comparison of any kind. No questions on President's book "Dreams of My Father" and how it shapped the President. Nothing or I should say almost nothing on Romney. But then again this is NBC and you guys are totally bias. Chris Matthews will cry on camera in November if his candidate doesn't make it! after the twinggling up his leg.
Sen. McCain - totally hypocritical - didn't like the "out of context" ad against him but Romney's is okay - and dodged the Syria involvement question without an answer. It's not Bosnia or Kosovo. He's still a hawk and that will never change. Further evidence that in Republican eyes, the President can do nothing right, no matter what the issue.
There is never any new news with McCain when it comes to discussing Obama's policy positions. A world class sore loser. No currency. No creds. Seriously, why do you book this guy over and over and over again.
I find David Plouffe to be quite the fast talking, tongue twisting, word manipulating, politically expedient ace when it comes to painting a rosy scenario for the President. The problem is he's kind of like a V8 engine that needs a tune up, he's missing on a number of cylinders and there is no way he going to get a tune up before the election.
For those that are offended that we the people may not b aware of Senator McCains's service 2 country ...heads up....i'm not 1 of them....I do know history of this man..had a great deal of respect 4 Mr. McCain when he was the upstanding citizen ...the maverick...the bucking of all 4 the sake of the good of the country...that is not the John McCain of today...after he unleashed that demon from the tundra of Wasilla & hurled her on2 we the people...he lost the election...he joined the right wingnuts of his party...he is now an angry old man...so no matter what he is presenting all u c is the poison exuding from his pores...therefore, Mr. McCain has become useless along w/the rest of what is the Republican Party of today...he now has come to an aha moment about REFORM FINANCE ....HMMM HOW CONVENIENT!!! WOW!!! just in time 4 the 2012 election...this party's ALONG WITH THE GREAT MCCAIN'S only goal in the past 3 years was 2 obstruct any good that President Obama wanted to do 4 this country...they have done nothing & Mr McCain let this country's credit rating go down take us to the tip of the cliff all 4 the sake of bringing Mr. Obama down....anybody can be a bully...It takes a real fighter a real maverick to work for the good OF America....we use to have that guy...but he is but a shadow of nothing now...I thank Senator McCain 4 all...now get off the sinking ship as we try & steer it in right direction despite ...not because of John McCain...I also thank him for Meaghan...who knows maybe we can still vote in a McCain with some moral integrity, some sense of humanity, someone who will not buckle 2 the whims & quite frankly the stupidity of her Party....
