Mitt Romney supporter and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley thinks a drawn-out Republican primary process is benefiting President Obama.
"Every day we don't have a nominee, is one more day where President Obama can beat up on the Republicans and raise more money," Haley said.
The governor thinks the best way for her candidate to combat the Mr. Obama in the fall is to highlight what she believes is president’s poor record, painting him as “a man who lost our credit rating... who incurred more debt in his three years than President Bush did in eight.”
Haley, the Palmetto State's first female governor, also acknowledged the need for Mitt Romney to focus on strengthening his support among women voters in the general election. "When you're a candidate, you don't go out to the people that support you, you go to the people that you need to get,” adding, "he needs to reach out to women."
Haley continued, "The media thinks that women only care about contraception. That's not true. They care about contraception and education and healthcare and jobs and the economy." She added that Romney's wife Ann, a cancer survivor who has also battled multiple sclerosis, will help candidate and be his "one bonus."
Haley is on a book tour for her new memoir, Can't is Not an Option, that chronicles her rise to becoming the nation's youngest governor. Haley, an Indian American, says the book "is about a girl who grew up different and had to face what it meant to be different."
Watch David's entire interview with Governor Haley above to hear more of her thoughts on why President Obama is a "bully," and why she thinks the Augusta National golf course - the site of The Masters tournament taking place this weekend - should change it's policy and allow women to be members.

She's a real golden ticket. She should repeat her comment (made on tv) about how she doesn't feel rich (because money can come and go)....but not really go too easily when you've get a few hundred million. A real gold ticket.
Why is the national mainstream media giving Nikki Haley any exposure? She has almost no experience. Her election as governor was a Tea Party fluke. After one year in office, she has done a dismal job, which accounts for her rapidly falling approval ratings. Yes, she's a woman governor, but there are women governors across the country and even across the state line in North Carolina. However, there's no coverage of other current women governors.
The national media seems transfixed with her Indian national background. Rest assured, when Haley was campaigning for governor that information was buried or extremely downplayed. Most people who voted for her had no idea of her background and just paid attention to her fundamentalist Christian Tea Party rhetoric.
The most absurd question being raise is her possibility for a national appointment if Romney is elected. Why would Romney even consider Haley for a such position? She couldn't even deliver her own state in the SC primary. Just shows how little people think of her leadership opinions.
Governor Haley has the potential to become more irritating than half governor Palin or the running joke that is Bachmann. I did not think such a thing was possible but the more she appears on the national stage the more likely it becomes. Unlike the other two she was well educated and successful outside of government which would lead one to think that she would present a coherent and believable thought process. It appears that she is either delusional or more of a congenital liar than Gingrich, Sean Hannity or Limbaugh. She constantly blathers on about protecting the system from nonexistent voter fraud while requiring citizens to register for state issued picture id's a measure which is clearly a voter suppression measure. There has never been a case of false representation at the polls arrested or prosecuted in South Carolina in modern history. The state however is rife with cases of voter suppression going as far back as reconstruction. The idea that the president had anything to do with our diminished credit rating is patently absurd giving us the choice of thinking the governor either an abject idiot or a liar of Romnian proportion. The credit ratings agencies flat out told Congress to raise the debt ceiling or expect our rating dropped when the GOP stonewalled they dropped it plain and simple. Her state is last in education 45th in healthcare, 8th highest unemployment, 46th in wages 38th-40th in job creation a lower rank than when she took office if she was to be judged on her record the peasants would storm the manor house.
The folks who elect officials such as her do not wish to learn or push forward but only to believe and remain where they are physically and culturally. They started the Civil War and given the opportunity they will do it again. Belief allows reason to be trumped and it is never more evident than in the lower half of the CSA.

I really miss Tim Russert, tired of the softball MTP.
Hey 99% American People, did you notice how much attention the SC Queen Bee got?
Not much at all! She hates unions and loves corrupt corporates; the ones that put her in office!
VOTE STRAIGHT DEMOCRATIC, the life you save may be your own!!
If the people of SC have learned anything about Haley, it is that there are laws, rules, ethics, and conduct that apply to us, that don't apply to her. Her arrogance and sense of entitlement to do anything she wants is phenomenal. This horrendous sleaze bag , that is our governor, will eventually be indicted on corruption charges. Even then she will be too stupid to realize what is going on around her. She is a mean spirited, narcissistic, criminal, AIRHEAD.. who has lost the support of her own party.
sounds like another WINGNUT to me...
I respected what she had to say until she mentioned the Supreme Court. She accuses Obama of "bullying" the court as being a "negative" aspect.
Every politician should be criticizing the Supreme Court, regardless of their political party affiliation, based upon the court's ridiculous "Citizens United" decision. For 5 of the alleged most intelligent, thinking minds in all the land, to tell us that a corporation, which is a capitalist entity that provides goods and services, nothing more, is a person, is absurd. It's an insult to the intelligence of every American who has ever interacted with another person. The Supreme Court has sold out the American people and changes need to be made to the court's appointee process.
WOW - what a right wing nut!! David Gregory really sucks - he did not challenge her on anything!! She accused Obama of having the US credit rating downgraded? is she so stupid that she does not know how Congress works? (or did not work)
How any woman can vote republican this election is beyond my comprehension - not matter what your party is!!
Wow, I had no idea she made that statement. I tuned her out after her statement about Obama and the Supreme Court. With contacts like Palin and Romney showing her support, it makes you wonder where her financial backing came from to run her campaign. Unfortunately, with Citizens United decision, these financial sources can remain anonymous.
Dana -- I totally agree:
Also, David is always soft on the Reps, it's the Dems that he drills to death, he is nothing like Tim Russett. Wish they would replace him with an unbiased reporter. And this female is another out of touch politician -- where do they keep digging them up from?
On review of must of the comments, other then the one or two about David, I agree with the viewers points...no David is not nor is Luke the Master Interviewer, that is and will always be the great Tim Russett, however they have their own skills and styles which will make them Master Interviewers in their own right. Just a foot note regarding Governor Haley, she stated that she was inspired from a lecture given by Hilary Clinton and I couldn't help but to noticed there were two books on the bookshelf of the same book by Ms. Clinton, perhaps the staff could gift one of the copies to the Governor, because from how she was talking I'm thinking maybe she was a sleep missed the more then what she can remember...I'm not hating, I'm just saying.
OK, Folks...lay off Nicki Haley and David Gregory. Gov. Haley is doing a great job for SC, but she has many adversaries who are determined to do her in. She is a smart business woman who is doing her best for the SC economy. David Gregory is a good host; my opinon is that he tries too hard at times to stir up a headline. Must we always feed our taste for controvery? Are we not constantly saying that we'd like more co-operation in Washington, for example? If controversy is what makes the news, then how do we expect to accomplish anything. "Can't we all just get along?"
We, in South Carolina, want Mitt to win so that Nikki will leave her our state. She has sold out our state's ports to Georgia just so she can get a good spot on the program in Tampa at the convention. She can deny affairs all day long, but it is common knowledge that she has been unfaithful to her husband on numerous occasions. She is arrogant. She has had one scandal after another in office. The list goes on and on. She wouldn't even have been governor if Palin had not endorsed her. She is an embarassment to our state.
