Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-MD) believes members of the Tea Party support Herman Cain as a way to prove that they are not racist.
In an interview with David for this week’s PRESS Pass, Cummings said, “I think when [members of the tea party] can vote for a Herman Cain and hear him say the things that he says they feel like, ‘Well, you know, I can, I support this guy and... so it shows that I’m not racist and I’m supportive.’”
The ranking member of the House oversight committee also cautioned Democrats to not “underestimate” Cain. However, he continued, “I can guarantee you, if I put the two of them in a debate, President Obama wins every time, nine to one.”
